This is a short piece that I wrote a couple of months ago. I was planning it as a prologue to a longer fiction that I was playing around with, but then decided not to pursue it. Mainly because book 6 is coming out and will likely blast it into AU-ville ( Read more... )

Damn that HBP for coming out soon--I mean, not really, except it is scaring the daylights out of fandomers! I like this--it's a take on the Bertha/Florence thing that I hadn't seen done. So, 'Brava' to you and your sexy new tattoo.

LOL! I would just hate to get mired in a months-long fic only to have the book come out in the middle. As long as it's complete before a book comes out I'm fine, cuz I can just say, "based on canon as of OotP." I'm so nitpicky I'd feel compelled to go back and edit a story if it was a WIP, though.

And... well, my next long fic I think will be Star Wars, set between RotS and ANH. I probably ought to post the beginning prologue and chap 1 here on LJ, since I won't be updating to any archives till it's complete. Hmm.

Next long HP fic, unless HBP really inspires me, will be a Tom Riddle one. Yay evil people! :)

Thanks ;). I was going through my fic folder and found it, remembered I had meant to write it for the Spring Faire and almost scrapped it before saying, eh, why not post to LJ!

Their animosity is so much fun to write. Silly kids!

Oooh, there's so many things that I hope are fleshed out in the next two books, and that reference to Florence and Bertha is one of them. I've never seen this particular take on it, and I enjoyed it quite a bit. I think you've certainly nailed the animosity between Snape and Black.

Oh very nice, I like the way that you explained this first Shrieking Shack incident. As well as a plausible explanation for their continued rivalry. Well done!

Well, maybe it will work as a prologue anyway, after Book 6 comes out. I'd certainly like to see more, but it's wonderful as it is. I never liked Sirius much anyway, but this makes me really hate the smug bastard.
