He kneels in the pool of crimson, lowering shaking hands to her cold, cold face. Too late. Lord of Time, always too late.
So many close shaves and he was beginning to believe they’re invincible.
Jackie was right after all. He’d give anything to be able to prove her wrong.
One of these days you’re gonna get her killed, Doctor. Then we’ll both be alone.
He presses a hand over the knife-wound in her chest, as if it’ll keep precious blood from escaping, then bends, touches his lips to hers.
He only cries when suddenly-warm lips kiss back.
