Thank you! As a fellow feline lover, I can attest that it was a pleasure to include Monty in this, and I'm glad you liked him :)

That was lovely. Particularly liked the part where Robbie is grimacing over not liking James on "that thing", when he'd previously only managed to show his feelings about it through mocking. And the "unusual confessional mood" in the dark.

It rings very true, James pushing aside his feelings in order to offer comfort in any way that's needed. Until he realises he doesn't need to after all. Lovely feelgood fic, thanks!

Thank you very much! I'm glad you liked Robbie finally being honest about why he didn't like James riding his bike, and being even more honest in the dark later. And, yes, poor James, believing that he had to hide his own needs to provide comfort to Robbie. Glad you liked the way it worked out :)

I do love this. Thank you.

Monty is perfect as the unintentional catalyst who brings Robbie and James together.

(The first time I read it I had a little jolt at Robbie's mixture of annoyance, affection, and worry over Monty, as you had, inadvertently, painted a picture of my dad, and I loved watching him interact with my cat.)

I'm so glad you liked it, and that you enjoyed Monty's role as matchmaker for his two favourite humans :)

Sorry for the jolt! But, actually, that manner is pretty typical of many cat-lovers, my husband included. I hope the memory was fond as much as painful.

The jolt was fine. It was a very happy, fond memory :)

My dad was actually an avowed cat-hater, which made his reaction to my Baxter even more amazing. (Admittedly, I think my cat, an Australian Mist, is more than half dog (: )
