This is brilliant. Such a fascinating and original idea :) And some lovely Doctor/Rose banter, too! Loved it x

Thank you very much :) It's fun to play around with history when you're dealing with time-travel.

Great story! Love the historical bits and the timey-wimey bits and especially the bit where Rose was right. Great look at early Nine-and-Rose.

Thank you! They are fun to write at this stage, those two. And history has a lot of potential for timey-wimey. Glad you enjoyed it!

(And of course Rose was right *g*)

Fantastic story! I loved how the timelines worked and I loved how Rose is right. :)

I saw the word "antimacassars" for the first time last night and now here it is again. *whispers* I think it's watching me...

Thank you! Of course, that's why the Doctor keeps Rose around, don't you know? *g*

*psst* Watch out for that antimacassar over there in the corner - it's stalking you!

Oh Wendy this is beautiful. A wonderful Nine/Rose adventure that you just know could have been possible and I wish we could have seen this as an episode. I loved your explanation at the end too about what the fake Anastasia was. I know the Doctor's history of course and people do die. But I was concerned at first when he left the copy and took the real princess though I suspect that was part of your whole story plot. Thank you so much for this. The research and the fic and please say thanks for me to dark aegis as well for her help.

I love the story of Anastasia and even though history proved her dead I do like the idea that she lived and became so much more.

Thank you Thank you. It's perfect.

Phew!

You know, it really is nerve-wracking to write a story for someone else and to their specification: you never know until they read it whether it's going to be what they were hoping for. I knew you'd like Anastasia to have lived somehow, and so that's what I set out to achieve. (And, yes, the Doctor taking Anastasia and leaving the copy behind was the 'solution' to the plot: that way Anastasia could stay alive. Otherwise, the woman he and Rose met in Switzerland would cease to exist - that timeline would be gone).

And I'm definitely grateful to dark_aegis: she's the one who gave me the idea for the Cruinniu - whose name, actually, is Irish and comes from the term for gathering.

Wonderful story, loved the interaction with Nice/Rose, really sounded like them :-) I hope you don't mind but I've added you as a friend so I can catch up on and follow your future fic :-)

Thank you very much! I'm very glad you enjoyed it, and you're more than welcome to friend - though I should warn you that I don't write anything like as much fic as I used to, and these days I mostly write OT3 (that's Doctor/Rose/Jack) or Doctor/Jack. I have written a lot of Doctor/Rose, though, and if you take a look at my fic masterlists (go to the front page of my LJ) you'll find them listed. Those masterlists are not up to date, sadly, but most of my Doctor/Rose is there.

(I'm glad you have an LJ account now, because I don't do Facebook and would rather not be connected with Facebook in any way...)

Yep I managed to sort my account out to be an LJ one now so all good.

I like OT3 as well as Doctor/Rose or Doctor/Jack so I have plenty to go on with and ppl keep recommending new authors to me so I think I shall be here forever :-)

Thanks.
