there's three snacks like this because of kidsereynolds74October 13 2016, 19:26:29 UTC
when its family night we place all these three snacks on the center coffee table two couches surrounding the table but with in reach of resting legs and room enough for the snacks, and end table for hubby and me for drinks (i.e wine or imported beers)
The famous cheddar cheese ball on plate with spread knife and triscuits (we all love it!) Then Michael and I, Brie cheese with sourdough baguette cut in circles with some fig spread and last no matter what Chips (any and all kinds-Ruffles, Lays, Doritos or tortilla chips) with Sour Cream and guacamole!- This is a must always
and then on to the movie or show or game depending what is going on Mon-Sun ( My family of 4 have weird schedules and when we all realize we have the same night off- we settle in, grab the snacks and see whats up on TV)
I will always have Thursday night (used to be Wednesday) free for SUPERNATURAL- so they are ass out if we all end-up together on that night; TV's mine and the show to watch is Supernatural :D Liz
let's see...my favorite dip is hot sharp cheddar with diced onions in the mini crockpot altho my son prefers buffalo chicken dip.
I think the other fav in the house is a spinach dip in a bread bowl, it's one of those things I feel like I can call a meal and is still delicious the next day.
Literally slice sharp cheddar cheese from a block with tiny diced onions. Crockpot. Done.
Buffalo chicken dip we use a big can of chicken (of course fresh cooked chicken would do fine but I find canned chicken to work well in this dish), a package of cream cheese, cup of ranch dressing, cup of Frank's hotsauce, and a cup of shred cheddar. I like this one mixed and baked in the oven cause it gets those crispy bits to it.
and for the spinach dip we use a Knorrs vegetable dip package and mix it with a chopped bag of fresh spinach and a cup of mayo and a cup of sour cream. Maybe some chopped green onion, or garlic, or many people put waterchestnuts in theirs. Personally I hate them. It's one of the only foods that if it goes in my mouth I will spit it out. I think you could bulk it up with any fresh veg.
baked brie in puff pastry! spread some jam (i prefer apricot, but fig would be good too, or maybe raspberry) on top of a brie, wrap it in a sheet of puff pastry, and bake it for however long the directions on the box say. serve with water crackers, but wait a little bit for the brie to start to cool off and firm up, so it doesn't turn into a puddle of melted brie inside a pastry shell when you cut into it.
also artichoke dip, which has canned artichoke hearts, mayo, parmesan cheese, and possibly something else. you mash it all up, bake it, and sprinkle paprika on top when it comes out of the oven, then serve it hot and bubbling with ritz crackers. i don't have a recipe because my sister always makes it for family functions, but i have to call my mom later because today's her birthday, and i'll ask her.
tomato butter. super easy but very tasty! just take butter, let it warm up a bit, then mix in tomato paste and season with salt, pepper, garlic and rosemary.
