In retrospect it's all very Australian Labor (sic) Party-ish in its grandiosity and narcissism, and one might with courage have picked this as the defining moment after which it MUST be apparent that Milliband would not be Prime Minister, but I wasn't immersed in the cultural milieu of this particular election and everything is easy with the retrospectoscope.
