The ICC is not and has never been fit for purpose. As I tweeted yesterday, it is past time that responsibility for the game, Test matches most of all, be returned to the MCC.

Dubai? Has the MCC been bought up by another Gulf potentate while I wasn't watching?

Not as yet.

But the MCC was sidelined in '93, and the ICC left Lord's for Dubai in 2005, and cricket has been going to the dogs since. Christ, the UAE isn't even a Test cricketing nation.... But Dubai is closer to the subcontinent, so.... (Bloody IPL. Make Allen Sodding Stanford look honest. It'll all blow up, just you watch.)
