I had a dreadful moment the other night when I thought I might be supporting the Australians in a Test, but then realised I was only supporting Ashton Agar. I think after all the time I have spent here, I can allow 1/11th of my affections to stray.

I really hope my ukulele teacher follows the cricket, otherwise he's never going to understand why my playing is suffering this week from having no nails …
