Thanks for this, my dad was a bomb engineer for 617 Squadron. Missed out on being a pilot due to a change in his vision just before finals.

There needs to be a like button for things like this. :)

I seem to recall there being a modern version of the Dambusters film proposed, but I know not what became of it. Perhaps the name of Guy Gibson's dog and the code-word it imparted to the mission made the film company lawyers tremble.
