When I was a kid, my parents had a book: '1847--Year of Decision!' I never read it. I still don't know all of what made that year so critical. No doubt if I found the book again I would learn a lot.

But I have already learned new things just from watching your trailer. I will read your book with pleasure.

Bernard de Voto? MSP is rather by way of being an expert - on de Voto and his subject, the frontier.

That is the book. I probably should have read it. My mother may have gotten it when she went through her fangirl thing for President Polk. I was not paying much attention at the time.
