An appeal.

Nov 03, 2011 13:02

I’m not filtering it because there’s no point; he must of necessity know (and he’s not best pleased with me).* In the past 16 months, my publishing partner and co-editor has endured the deaths of his parents in succession, been lumbered with by all accounts an encumbered and complicated estate situation, had a bit of a breakdown, and accordingly had to leave his firm. He’s land (he’s trying to flog) but - with the estate situation - no money. At all. (He supported his dying parents for years.) Now, I’ve a fair idea how many people do read this journal, and I know they pride themselves on liberality. Having (more or less) overcome MSP’s objections, this appeal: £5, £10, these are easy enough sums for most, so let us see how much we can raise to aid the gentleman in the next 24 hours, and if we get to £1000 to £1500, I’ll match it (in addition to what else I’m doing). He has a PayPal account to which contributions may be sent: markham[dot]pyle[at]gmail[dot]com
(ETA: removed comic [full stop] as Brammers suggested possibility of confusion).

Again, that's markham.pyle[AT]gmail.com
