I don't know why we bother writing slash, really: we want only to get Swanny into fandom with his video diaries.

In other news, Ge[n/i]seric really was, in a sense, the most important bugger of his day, when you think of it; why is there no good life of the man?

1. Yes. They almost fangirl/boy themselves. TOO much fun.

2. Victor of Vita might be a start. But to have biography, you really need a school or scholastic culture, don't you, e.g. Einhard?

As I mentioned to you privately, what fascinates me w/r/t Gizericus notus is the extent to wh his taking Carthage so buggered up Western imperial finances that the Western empire never recovered.

And I think the point about financial / political instability and the likelihood of leaving records might stand, if on modest ground. But it is interesting that he lived for such a long time and has such good attestation with no surviving life (that I'm aware of).
