this is a really well written, beautiful memorium to jake. and a wonderful introduction for penny. it seems jake's life, and death, allowed you to see the strength in yourself that it took to get over something other people didn't think you could. penny will give you the strength to go beyond simply surviving, for in helping her learn her role as superhero, you will earn your own. without having ever given up your humanity. love to the puppies.
You have saved me more times than you will ever know of. You have offered solace and hope and a safety net. You have, in your quiet way, made my life livable. It does not surprise me at all that your beautiful, wonderful dog did the same for you. I love Jake. I love you. Thank you.
