Wow!! How long have you been working on all these things? And how are you making a blanket with so many colors? I'm also curious about the Slytherin crest.
This is what I've accumulated since September (ok, so not all of it, but a handfull of cupcakes and some hackeysacks aren't as pretty as the rest of them)
Lots of yarn and a grid for a pattern. >:D
The crest is all one (er, two) piece of yarn. When I wasn't using one color, I pulled it through the other one. It's kinda hard to explain. The way I see it, I crocheted around the color I wasn't using.
Wowie! You have accumulated so many cuties over the months!! Love the phone booth - it's missing the doc, tho.... The dino was a terrific idea, though the teeth might've been threatening at first glance... :P hope they weren't, though... I love your Toothless. Extra cookies for actually finishing him, too - I started one, too, but it's still in the WIP box (what box?! crate, more like...) Your dollies have such a personality, love the little fashion show they provide here... and the accompanying critters are cute to boot, too. The knitting bits intimidate me, really - remind me of why I stick to the hook for yarn-y crafts... (I never fully mastered the art of knitting, I just get along and survive in that field) But yikes, is that a complicated blanket indeed! Gotta love them all! And crafting blogs FTW! Please post your cuties later on, too!
I want to make the Doctor, but his hair is so short I'm still trying to decide how I want to go about making it.
Nah, they all loved it. It was used as a prize for the person who worked hardest in the group that month and they were reluctant to give it back.
Thank you. Good luck finishing yours. I'm actually quite fond of my toothless patterns because it is fairly repetative so I can just chug through it in a couple of hours. Eventually, I'm going to make it a bit more accurate in the face, though.
The blanket is crocheted. Everything is. I can't knit to save my life.
:3 I will, and hopefully not forget to for 8 months.
Yaays for the Doc! I'm sure you'll be superb in making him, though. With the hair, this one worked for me in small scale, though I ended up loving hte afro effect the uncut strands held, so I can't guarantee the durability. But it's still a good pattern: http://needlenoodles.com/home/?q=node/83 Other than that, looping on longer threads and then trimming it (am trimming at least once more, as I suck at making hairdos - you should see my hair) really short worked if I separated the strands to fully cover the head. Thanks, as soon as I finish the demo version - which is white... - I'll post it to show I can, too. Weird, but only the belly, hind legs and tail are missing, which are not that difficult, but I somehow lost my will to do it... I envy your repetitions. That's something you seldom find in my patterns... I'm complicated like that. :D And lol, I should've looked twice. Could've sworn it was knit, though... anyways, it's lovely.
I've tried doing hair like that and while it's nice it's not suited to any of my doll's hair. Plus it wastes too much yarn. The way I do it is http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3287/2978971930_073e5eb4d3.jpg which takes a lot longer but is easier to control. Short hair doesn't work with either way, though. The best way to do that is either embroidery or a scull cap+ brushing it out with a dog brush. The only reason I haven't done those is because I bleed when I'm within 3 feet of a needle and I don't have a dog brush yet
( ... )
Oh, wow! So much crafty goodness!! This is all so wonderful!! That blanket is mind boggling!!! I can't even imagine doing that! My Hub was impressed with your Tardis, and I love your Toothless! :o)
I thought the blanket would be more difficult, but thinking of it as a grid really helped. It's just taking forever to make progress on cuz it's huuuuge lol
