My First Amigurumi

Jan 16, 2010 03:13

Hello! I'm new to amigurumi and crochet in general. I've been crocheting for a little over a week and I've been following this community avidly since I started. I don't have a real livejournal but I signed up just for this community and I wanted to wait until I had finished an ami project before posting.

So, here is ( Gary the Salmon Squid )

beginner, squid

Spheres may have more increase at the beginning. What you're describing is how to make a cone or a conical section (or a cylinder, with no increases, but anyone can figure that). I'll admit, though, the patterns I've seen in practice often get a "sphere" by following the formula for a nearly flat cone most of the way. It might be the stretchiness of the yarn making up for some inaccuracy on a small scale.
