Sack Mac Feegle (Custom Discworld "Daft Wullie" Sackboy)

Jan 24, 2009 23:44

Finished up my latest custom Sackboy project tonight! Say hi to Daft Wullie, the first ever Sack Mac Feegle! He is approximately 8.5” tall.

For the non-Discworld fans out there, Nac Mac Feegles are little blue fairies from Terry Pratchett’s Tiffany Aching books set in his Discworld. They are 6 inches tall, proudly illiterate, fond of drinking, fighting, and stealing, and speak with heavy Scots accents. They are a bit of a cross between the fellows in Braveheart and the brownies in Willow.

Here is the reference image I used of Daft Wullie as sculpted by kick butt artist Paul Kidby.

And here is the Sackboy body before I added the hair and kilt:

ETA: Side view of nekkid doll!

ETA (again): Here is a link to my Sackboy head pattern at Google Docs. I cannot ethically post the pattern for the body since that hasn't been changed significantly from RichmondArt's commercial pattern on Etsy, but hopefully this head will give you a good start. It's my 4th version, and I think I finally have it right. :)

I used RichmondArt's Crochet Sackboy pattern ($5.50 from Etsy) for the arms, and modified it slightly to make the body and legs.
