Thanks :) They aren't from anything, I just started crocheting. Now that I think about it, they kind of look like those little round furrballs in that horror movie. Can't remember the name of them.

Tribbles! That's what I was thinking of ... from the movie. Edit: From Star Trek.

Oh, those are just SERIOUSLY CUTE!!! :o) What did you make them with? I presume you've brushed the yarn, since you're so good at that! Is that the bamboo you've used before? They look so yummy and fluffy!

The one on the left could be a perfect head for an owl! :o)

It's just regular acrylic yarn :) It's amazing how easily it brushes up like that.

Wow! No KIDDING! I had no idea that regular acrylic would do that!! Have to try it. It would be a lot easier than working with fuzzy yarn! :o)

(and yes, they DO look like Tribbles! From the original Star Trek series.)

I love them!!! Do you have a pattern for making them?? I would love to make them too but wouldn't have a clue as to where to start since I'm new at this. Also... like the above said, what kind of yarn?

Thanks a lot :) I haven't written a pattern yet, but I'll try to do that soon.

It's just acrylic yarn. Pretty much any yarn will fuzz up like that if you brush it with a slicker brush (from pet shops or the pet section of department stores for less than $5).

Adorable!

This may seem like a dumb question, but do you brush the yarn after creating the critter, or before you make it? I've never brushed yarn before.

It's not a dumb question at all. You brush them after you make them, just make sure you crochet fairly tight so the bristles of the brush don't catch on the stitches.

Brush firmly with small strokes left, right, up, and down. The way I do it is brush up all the way around, making sure to get all of it. Then I brush to the left or right all the way around, and switch and go the other way. Then I brush down all the way around from the top down. That seems to get the most fluffiness out of it.

It isn't quick. It takes 5-10 minutes to get it nice and fluffy.

Did any other Pottergeeks think to themselves, "Pygmy Puffs?"
These are adorable. Good job!

Ooo... would you mind if I call them that when I write the pattern? I'm thinking this will be my Christmas giveaway pattern. ^.^
