Thanks :) They aren't from anything, I just started crocheting. Now that I think about it, they kind of look like those little round furrballs in that horror movie. Can't remember the name of them.
Oh, those are just SERIOUSLY CUTE!!! :o) What did you make them with? I presume you've brushed the yarn, since you're so good at that! Is that the bamboo you've used before? They look so yummy and fluffy!
The one on the left could be a perfect head for an owl! :o)
I love them!!! Do you have a pattern for making them?? I would love to make them too but wouldn't have a clue as to where to start since I'm new at this. Also... like the above said, what kind of yarn?
Thanks a lot :) I haven't written a pattern yet, but I'll try to do that soon.
It's just acrylic yarn. Pretty much any yarn will fuzz up like that if you brush it with a slicker brush (from pet shops or the pet section of department stores for less than $5).
It's not a dumb question at all. You brush them after you make them, just make sure you crochet fairly tight so the bristles of the brush don't catch on the stitches.
Brush firmly with small strokes left, right, up, and down. The way I do it is brush up all the way around, making sure to get all of it. Then I brush to the left or right all the way around, and switch and go the other way. Then I brush down all the way around from the top down. That seems to get the most fluffiness out of it.
It isn't quick. It takes 5-10 minutes to get it nice and fluffy.

This may seem like a dumb question, but do you brush the yarn after creating the critter, or before you make it? I've never brushed yarn before.
