Food!

Just because I want to be part of the ami-along, even though, I am ... once again... not "alonging" I'm posting some food items that I've previously made.  I'm still drowning in birthday gift knitting for the summer and can't squeeze in any "just for fun" projects yet.

So here's my favorite of my food creations:

Woaaah! Sooo cute! I really envy your knitting powress of awesomenes!! I <3 the strawberry, and the cake pouch is quite an eyecandy - just looking at them makes my scales go nuts! :D
Awesome work, as always.

ha ha! Thanks, legendancer! First time my peeps have ever affected someones scales! But they're zero calories! Honest! ;o)

The pouches were time consuming (especially the jewelry pouch, the sewing kit was just like making a large cupcake, but the top comes off and is stuffed and closed up underneath), but it's all mostly simple knitting. Once you get knitting in the round down, the rest is pretty basic stuff. Just perseverance! :o)

But thank you so much for thinking I'm awesome! That makes my day! :o)

The "strawberry" is actually a raspberry! heh heh But could be made into a strawberry really easily, with a pointed bottom. It was really simple! Just a knitted ball, but I did it in seed stitch (k1,p1 then next round p1,k1) to make it bumpy. It's all in the yarn, isn't it! heh heh

They are all great, but I especially like the jewelry pouch! That is really expertly done. What a fabulous idea!!! I bet my mom would love one. I may have to try something similar for her at some point.

Thanks so much, crafty_shanna! You're always so kind! :o) It's not that complicated at all to do a jewelry pouch, just make a cupcake kind of thing (I made mine to be ice cream in a dish, by the colors and layers), and instead of stuffing it, put in a drawstring! And Poof! A pouch! :o) I then made a kind of roof that I buttoned on with fire-polished crystals, and it worked! :o) I did make a little base inside (Pudge's photo on two layers of cardstock) to make it stay flat at the bottom. I've seen a pattern for a crocheted cupcake pouch that would be perfect, just as is! I think it's a purse, but a smaller one would be a cool jewelry pouch. Especially with sparkly yarn ( ... )

Awww.. thanks rospberry! That's really kind of you!! Are you sure that the raspberry isn't your favorite? ;o)

Such a cute avatar! Is that one of your creations? I'd love to see a bigger pic of that!

LOL. Nope, I will ignore my allegiance to the raspberry and give love to its rival *giggles*.

Aw, thanks. Yeah - the icon is Twit :) I'm very much a beginner at making these things but I have photos of what I've done here (including Twit).

heh heh Okay, the raspberry will have to accept that! ;o)

Your ami's are just marvellous! Love them all, especially Twit, and the Adipose baby, and the dragon, and the ducky with the curly hair... and and! :o) All wonderful!
