I'm well! [ Because she clearly needed to know this. ]

Hey, hey, why does Canada celebrate Thanksgiving in October while America celebrates it in December?

Because my sister's a sillypants.

[She actually pokerfaces her way through that before snorting.] No, I... well, it just happened that way. This works for me and that works for America.

Hmm... [ She taps her chin. That sounds a little weird! ] but wouldn't it be more convenient if you celebrated it on the same day? That way, you can save money and celebrate it together. As a family!

Hahaha! Yeah, I guess you're right. Teacher, Japan, Korea and Vietnam celebrate the same holidays on different days, but that doesn't mean [ slows down ] we're less of a family...

But having all that Chinese ham to myself would be a waste, you know! Like Canada's turkey! I'm sure Canada and America saved some money that time.

Well, not really. I just had fewer leftovers. I'm sure it didn't stop her from having her own six weeks later. It's a nice thought, though!

Ah, that's right, America from your world is a girl, too, isn't she? She sounds a lot like the America I know. Is she fat?

She is. A girl, I mean! Not fat. Certainly not after the economic troubles we had last decade. [She means the 1930s.] Although I suppose she's quite a lot like the America I met here...

What are you talking about? [ laughs! That America and his dot-com ventures. ] He's still eating tons of Big Macs a day, you know... but I guess you can't take those away from him even after what's been happening recently.
