Chapter 3 - A Bit not Good

221B Baker Street, North West London

The rain changed suddenly from a misty drizzle to a moderate downfall and fat raindrops started to pelt the stone steps that stretched like an insurmountable barrier between John and Sherlock. Too surprised to even shiver the doctor stared up from where he was kneeling on the pavement ( Read more... )

I've just read the five chapters and I'm keen to read more.

I do like the last chapter, both John and Sherlock seemed very much back in character after 8 months apart coming to terms with what they had done to each other. I can see Sherlock as having the potential of being greedy, demanding and possessive of John. As to John, becasue he's fascinated by Sherlock, I can see John as being willing to develop a relationship but not if it's entirely on Sherlock's terms.

I'm intrigued to discover what Machiavellian Mycroft is up to though. :-)

I am so glad you enjoyed this story. I felt as I was writing chapter 3 that perhaps in some ways it was a little far fetched that John and Sherlock would actually behave "normally" after seeing each other for the first time but I do think that John refuses to see himself as the victim of rape (which is what sherlock was doing) and thus he can't let himself fully blame Sherlock.

There will be more dark parts coming up, don't think that Sherlock has suddenly mellowed out just because he made John tea!

Thank yo for the comment!

This story looks very good, I have to say. All the little pieces that come together are rather intriguing.

Did you change this chapter? I could swear that yesterday it was a little differend dialog-wise?

*MY GOD am I going crazy?!?* XD

Hi jeza, thanks for your comments! It is actually going to be an epic story so the little bits are probably going to come together a bit slowly. I have been changing the odd grammar mistake because I don't have a beta so perhaps you are not going crazy!

Either way so glad you enjoyed it! Next chapter is in the works.

gah i hate posting from my mobile! My long comment just got deleted. :( anyway, i just wanted to say im really enjoying this. Its a different and interesting take on sherlocks character and i absolutely adore how dark you ve made him. I also appreciate Johns BAMFness. On a side note : darling, you need a beta! The typos distract from the wonderful writing and plot. I cant wait to read more. Keep it up :)

Hi n anon, I'm really glad you enjoyed this! I was afraid at first that people would object to dark!sherlock but I thought there was definitely enough hints in the canon to suggest that he might be dangerously possessive.

Yes I agree that I need a beta! Anyone you can recommend/is willing to do this? :)

Hey there, bit of a sudden mood change from earlier chapters. Saw your earlier comment and have to agree that I did find the 'normality' of the encounter a bit hard to swallow given the prologue. Not that I am not glad to see a less menacing Sherlock back and, as I said in an earlier comment, I am overjoyed to that he is multifaceted and not just 'dark', but that is a latent characteristic in a more rounded character. Just wondered if this chapter has gone a bit too far the other way. Not that I didn't enjoy it.

PS. above was just a comment after reading this section. I realise I should probably wait and read the whole thing first to see how the story unfolds.

Thanks for your thoughts! I wanted Sherlock and John's meeting after eight months to be somewhat less intense but only to contrast with what Sherlock does in chapter 4. He is Dark!Sherlock but even so even he has his "normal" days.

Mind if I friend you?

Yer, I thought after I wrote the first entry that he might change as the story progressed and I was maybe making a void observation - danger of reading things in chapters. I should learn to wait :)

Please do friend me.

Going to read some more now.
