i was just there on saturday! i was rooting for the Staten Island Yankees, though. wow, the place looks empty compared to when i went. then again, it was a saturday night and the place was full.
i loved the sausage race. ahaha! mustard won, but cheated by pushing (i think it was ketchup) into the railing of the yankees' dugout
I like to see teams' scorecards so thanks for the pictures! I wish my local team would print up their own scorecards. I seriously would buy one every game. Hey, do you know why there's space for three extra batters? I've never been able to figure that one out. I guess they're for substitutions, but it seems odd that they have their own complete rows of empty diamonds.
Lol. Sausage race... with a guy in a big hamster ball?
You're very welcome - the scorecard is actually in the free program that they hand out at the gates every game. As for your question, I have no idea. Like you, I've assumed it's for substitutions beyond what fits into the additional boxes beneath the starting players names. But I've sort of taught myself scoring, so I'm by no means an authority.
The guy in the big hamster ball is the promos guy at the park - he does all the things between innings (beanbag toss etc.). After I took the picture, there was much amusement provided by him rolling over one of the hotdogs, and the hotdogs all flailing over each other.
Man, I really want to go to a Cyclones game so bad. The boy I am seeing took me to see Keyspan last time I was in the city, but despite what he thought they were playing in Staten Island, not Brooklyn that day.
Free programs you say? Luuucky. Up in Binghamton they are about 2 dollars a pop so I have to steal line-ups from our media relations guy when ever I have a day off and catch a game.
If you can, I really encourage it. Even with the stadium half full at best, it was a really fun game. Probably helps that as of that night, they were first in their division.
That seems very Not Cool. The programs are mostly advertising, which is why they're free probably, but there are also little blurbs and pics about the guys and about the team etc. They're very well done for freebies!
