OOC question: How's that thesis coming along?

Slowly... so very slowly. Writing up the research is done, I'm in the analysis stage right now- trying to make sense of all that information. I'm starting work on the third/final chapter before writing out the introduction and concluding chapter! IDK when it will be finished but... yes. Progress.

Let's start with- Top three canons you'd like to see in camp!

1. Achewood: Achewood is arguably one of the best webcomics ever created. I can hardly express how much love I have for the comic, so one may come to the conclusion that yes I would like to see it in camp.

2. The Muppet Show (any of the films would work too): Because Camp needs more puppets.

3. ...I don't know, Animaniacs maybe? Yes, that would work.

Top three canons that you would not like to see in Camp?

That I don't want to see? This is hard...

Canon that I like and would be concerned about characters being in camp: ... Princess Bride. Though dangerous things do happen in the plot, I would have to have confidence in the player(s) to be comfortable.

Twilight is a canon that I'm not fond of but admit characters could be improved via RP (or lambasted for the amusement of all, whichever way the player takes it).

And Jane Austen's works can stay out (except for the Zombies apper, that would be amazing if Elizabeth got in) because lol thesis-bias.

What is an event you'd like to see happen in Camp?

This is a silly question, but how the heck does Mayu deal as a teacher with the madness of having both Yuki and Kyo in her class?

Ah, well, individually, they're both good kids, in their own ways! Yuki is quieter and respectful, but she can relate to Kyou's tsundere side. Yuki is bright, Kyou studies hard, so their grades aren't a problem. The other students' interest in them (one fairly popular with the rest of the class, the other being the Prince of Kaibara High and Student Body President) makes things hectic at times! On their own, they're fine ( ... )

Mayu-sensei so much more on it than my high school homeroom teacher. :')

Axis Powers Hetalia is easier because basically Korea would just like his bros China and Japan back so he can bother love them properly. ♥

Dragon Knights is harder. I grew up with this canon and it's my baby and I have a hard time trusting other people to app from it unless I already know them. I'm such a bad person. ;; But ideally... I'd really like either Tetheus or Thatz in camp, for selfish pairing type reasons. I've got Kitchel already and canonically she falls hard for the prior but was originally supposed to be paired up with the latter. ...I'd feel more comfortable if Tetheus was in camp, though, since Thatz and Kitchel was my first OTP ever and oh god the temptation to hook them up might be too much for me. ;_;

Why did you decide to app Mayu?

There were a multitude of factors. First, Furuba is my forever manga and I adore the characters. And Mayu stood out to me because she cares so strongly for others, yet she's tough when she has to be. And she fell in love at first sight for this guy and has been holding the torch for him for YEARS-just, she's one of my favorites ( ... )

We need to bond over Hatori being back home. :( Because we haven't played in forever.

I concur with both parts of this. :( There's bound to be a V-Day post that pings Mayu in the "baww not!bf is gone" place, or I'll keep an eye out for you!

Question... OK, so I never congratulated you for apping Eddie (kyaa Dark Tower kyaa!) so I guess I'll ask if you like any other SK books?

I used to read Stephen King a lot back in high school. I think I read Cujo, Misery, Pet Sementary, Christine and Carrie. They were all right at the time, but, in general, I am not crazy about King's style. On the plus side, I enjoy the interweaving thing he does with characters and concepts from his key canons and I think he is amazing at characters. But I also think he is far too arrogant for his own good, and it seeps into his writing. The end of Dark Tower rubbed me very badly in this aspect. I also think he sucks at writing love. Despite this, Dark Tower is my baaaaaaby. I don't think I will ever love a book series more. It is my Code Geass of literature.

Now that they've finally met, Mayuko's thoughts on/impression of Raidou?

Reply

welcome_summer February 11 2010, 21:22:10 UTC
First impressions- ok, so Mayu has a good first impression of Raidou! She went out on a limb mentioning the "paranormal" and felt a little bad that it made him uncomfortable- plus it reminded her of Hatori's reaction to her knowing about the curse and bawww...

Anyways! Mayu got a better handle of him the second time they met. (She would have been confused if that had been their first, "I thought Narumi's assistant was male :|a") But when she's in teaching mode, she's in her element. And Raidou's interest in the subject was... refreshing! She finds him curious and polite, and will help him gladly in the future!

Reverse first impression of Mayuko?

Favorable! Raidou already enjoys talking to Mayuko, because she is friendly and knowledgeable and he really likes learning things. He can see why Narumi would like her. It does bother him a bit that it was ten months before he even met her, when she's been here as long as Narumi and is clearly someone Narumi trusts, but he's aware that there are a lot of people in camp and besides, it's not as if Narumi isn't entitled to have his own friends and his own life that doesn't involve Raidou.

He is very, very curious about what Narumi might have told her about their world, considering that he trusted her enough to tell her about the paranormal aspects, but he's hesitant to ask. Really, he's hesitant to ask her anything regarding her friendship with Narumi, because he figures it's not any of his business.

He would actually not mind talking to her about paranormal matters, but the fact that she knew he and Narumi were involved with them threw him quite a bit.

What are Mayuko's favorite subjects to teach/learn about?

Mayuko likes teaching literature, and would do well with language and history classes! She likes sharing her arts and humanities knowledge with the younger set, especially sources from outside of Japan, when the strict timeline/curriculum allows.

As for learning, Mayu likes studying literature. She likes... learning how to do different things (handicrafts/repairs/so on...) and improving her skills (cooking/gardening/so forth). Traditional Japanese arts aren't really her thing- my headcanon says young!Mayu even failed her ikebana class, to her mother's embarrassment.

Raidou's favorite and least favorite subjects?
