I loved this story so much. I already kudo's it over on AO3, but I disagree about it being OOC. I think you always manage to capture the essence, and this is an AU that has a lot of touch-backs to canon. I really liked the sakura imagery at the Shinagawa place; I don;t know if you meant the sakura to be a reference to the kind of sterile beauty of Tenkai (they're a central metaphor in Gaiden, so maybe?), but that's how it came across to me, especially after the descriptions of the place. I think it's awesome and I enjoyed reading.
