This has a name according to his twitter - Bird Jacked by Chris Benz.

I'm calling it a birket.

Also, I'm trying not to think that he trapped, plucked, and tailored Big Bird.

It's like seven or eight feather boas at once! Only a certain person in a certain place could pull this off, but I think Johnny Weir judging Miss USA in Las Vegas fits.

His second outfit would probably also be considered totally wild by people who didn't know him, but to us it probably seemed more like he'd fallen back on familiar comfortable things: only a sparkly jacket and ban.do headband. I enjoyed both outfits though I admit the first one made me crack up. His question was okay but it's really too bad the judges didn't have more time to talk.

LOL, I cracked up over the feather jacket as well :-) Though, my laughter really was that of pure delight over how cool the jacket was and over Johnny's amazing chutzpah to be able to wear it.

I certainly agree with you that the jacket did fit the occasion of Johnny "judging Miss USA in Las Vegas".

Thanks for posting!

He looks ridiculous as anything, but I guess I just like how happy he seemed to be and how much fun he was having, albeit looking a bit bored during most of the telecast.

And I want that ban.do he wore with the other outfit for myself. :P

I hate the jacket, but in my head he's thinking "I'll wear whatever I want and anyone who doesn't like can suck it" rather than "ooooh, this is pretty!" and I could never disapprove of that. I'm well aware that I might be deluded, but in that case I don't want to be proven wrong ;_;
