BUFFALO, N.Y. (WIVB) - U.S olympic figure skater, author, and reality tv judge Johnny Weir stopped in Buffalo Sunday.
Weir signed copies of his new book, "Welcome to my World," at Talking Leaves on Elmwood Avenue.
Recently he opened up about being gay, following a string of young people taking their own lives.
Weir says what's more important is making your own mark in life.
Weir said, "I still have to make something of myself, I still have to work hard and I think that it's a good message for all the lesbian, gay, bisexual transgendered youth is that don't rest on it, don't rest on anything that you're just born with, make yourself something."
Weir won the U.S championships three straight years.
He also appeared in the 2006 and 2010 winter Olympics.
