Frank wasn't a bad interviewer; he was reasonably open and tolerant and respectful. Gumbel's been a misogynist from way back, so ugh. On the "ever been in love?" question Johnny said, "I've been in love with a few - uh - a few times." He barely caught himself on that one.

After the horror of the new Poker Face makeup/costume, this was a relief. He looks so good here. Phew.

I think Johnny is a REALLY poor liar. Like it really seems obvious when he isn't telling the truth. He's usually very direct and eloquent and holds direct eye-contact. As soon as the "ever had a relationship" question was asked he looked off to the side, spoke more quietly, and seemed to stumble a bit. While I understand his purpose in keeping his relationship with Drew on the dl he obviously wasn't being truthful.

He did the same thing this past month when someone at the MTV movie awards asked him if he was dating anyone right now. His voice lowered, he looked down to the side, and shook his head no. He then seemed to try to change the topic quickly.

yeah, I can totally read his poker face ;) He's got a tell-- he touches his face when he's lying alot. I noticed he scratched his nose when answering that question. Oh Johnny... ILU

You have it just right. He usually is so direct and he prides himself on that, so when it comes to this one topic and he has his reason, whatever it be, for keeping quiet, he stumbles. I do have to say I think these interviewers have zero business asking that question of him. Do they ask anyone else in figure skating?

Hahaha, all I needed to remind me of why I love him is that "Why is your head so tiny? Why did your mother do that to you?" banter. Oh Johnny. I will patiently wait out this particular phase...
