This is less apocalyptic than most--they only attacked things made of meat, and mutated them in generally life-sustaining ways. Infrastructure is present, only damaged by giant rampaging skunks instead of bombs n' such.

Well, there are other areas that are less life-sustaining. Everything organic in Las Vegas turned into Tang, I'm told.
