I didn't get that other job (possibly due to my full-time student status), but am however waiting to hear back today sometime about another job a applied for. It will run for 5 weeks over the Easter holidays, making life unbelieveably busy, uni a little difficult to manage and sleep minimal, but as per most employment opportunities, it would have ( Read more... )

Stoopid-head sounds appropriate. Though in the manner of second hand quotes, it is possible that they meant something more subtle than was transmitted. In any case, it raises a problem...

Because, after all, we are told to rejoice in the Lord always!

C S Lewis helped me here, defining joy as something different from happiness - a less fleeting, more looking-forward type of emotion. A recognition of a better future, and a yearning for it. It's a definition of joy that necessarily recognises the brokenness of the world. Best of all, it's not an end in itself - you don't seek joy, you seek the object of it, what it points you to...or should I say, who it points you to.

p.s. peter hughes leads CS here, and apparently he knows you and adam and dane, and has just mvoed to Kellyville. I think he said he's going to rouse hill anglican? or maybe kellyville anglican... i can't remember...
