Happy Halloween take 2.

Aren't paid accounts both fun and trying. Just when I get excited by getting 2 months paid time (thank you LJ!) I poke around and see I was de-friended in August (whilst that may seem a while back everything since August to now has been a bit of a blur to me, in fact, I'm pretty sure I still have some comments I need to reply to lying around from ( Read more... )

Yeah, its fair enough if they don't want to read your posts or are culling their lists, but its nice to be told.

I hate it when folks don't drop a line saying they are defriending, or at the very least make a public culling list where they state they have made a cut for whatever reason.

Every now and then I will go through my list and if someone hasn't posted in over a year, or I don't talk with them via IM, twitter or FB, I'll usually trim the list, but I always make a post or send an individual pm.

It does really aggravate me when folks don't leave some kind of personal notification. More than it should lol. I just hit the 'remove friend' button and move on after growling a little :P

Yeah, as I said above, fair enough if they don't want to be friends but a notice would be nice.

Funnily enough (which I was going to add but forgot) this person usually does to a public friends cut post, but there's been nothing since January (when I wasn't one removed then). So it makes me wonder if I was just a single person removed. Haha.

I try or like to see a nice small or lj-active friends list, but I find it hard most of the time to do so. Just hoping they'll come back. XD

The OCD part of me means I have to have my friends and mutual friends lists the same (unless I've just added somebody through a friending meme and they haven't added me back, then I can deal. For like two days, lol), so I check my profile pretty often. Still, it's pretty sad when I realise I've been defriended.

Yeah, I get that also. But I realise for authors who have a friends list of over 2,000 they can't add everyone back. So. I like reading and sometimes replying to their posts so its hard not to be uneven at times. So I've learnt to deal with it. *g*

Oh, I don't have people like that as friends, so I guess that isn't an issue.

Yep, I realised that. :D

I have (for what its worth, you probably haven't heard of many of them): Richelle Mead, Jackson Pearce, Maggie Stiefvater, Tamora Pierce and one or two 'trying to break out' authors on my list. Funnily enough over half of them added me back when I first added them!

I had a Bones moment or two today //random

LJ always sends me notifications whenever somebody adds or defriends me. best thing ever as I do not have to check my profile that way.

Ooh, you have a permanent account!?
How'd ya manage that!

Ah, I see you've been one of the 'early settlers' '03 kid. That's how. (Maybe?)

I'd have that notification too, but I normally don't have a paid account. I got gifted 2 months for my first experience of one at Christmas last year by a flister, and today was the second time I got some paid account time (I think there was a comepetition on Facebook and I was a runner up).

So normally it can be a little hard for me to track without the option of notifications for those things, which is only in a paid account. :)

They have sales for those every couple of years and I figured that I'm gonna be here a while so it might be cheaper to get a permanent account instead of constantly paying for a paid account and additional icon space.

If you got an account in the early days, like the first year after the site opened, your account has another title. Something like "early adopter" or something equally weird.

I had no idea there is no way to get those notifications without having a paid account. That must suck. :/

Yeah, I was around when the did the last one or two batch sales. Well, at least you don't need to worry about it again. Guess that means you're sticking here for the long haul!

Yeah, I remember that now. Thanks.

Yes, you can get lj user adding you notifications but not removing you in plus accounts.

Yups, getting defriended can suck, especially if it's from someone you think is close.

We weren't that close. But exchanged more comments than others that have removed me. So.
