Vampire Academy spin-off (but of course you don't need to have read the other series to read this it might have a bit more depth to it if you have though) novel Bloodlines which is out August 23rd in USA & Australia.

Here's an official sneak peak at the first 4 chapters of the book!
And I can't recall if I put it here, but there's also a unreleased ( ( Read more... )

I'm pretty excited for this! I still haven't read the last book, lol, because people have posted such harsh reviews and it terrifies me. Apparently Rose becomes a Bella clone, who's manipulative and needy and helplessly loveick, and Dimitri's all hung up on Lissa. *headdesk* I can't even.

(also, Adrian's still dating Rose, which pisses me off- I hate love triangles, so that put me off quite a bit, lol. I'll get around to reading the damn book someday...)

But the spinoff sounds neat! I just wish I could save the preview, 'coz I don't have time to read it now, only when I c/p, it turns into gibberish. *eyeroll*

Aw. I *told* you to read it when i finished and found out the happy ending for you! Why did you wait to be swayed by others reviews, only you can see what you think of it for yourself!! I didn't think it was that bad, I mean sure she needs saving but I thought her mixed up feelings for Dimitri were plausible and realistic (in a way I mean if you've read the previous ones you can tell what she thought of him I don't think it amplified it that much more...) And Dimitri's state wasn't exactly hung up on Lissa I'd be pretty out of it too if I'd just had my soul ripped away from me and then shoved back into my body with a little bit of Lissa essense, plus he still had the whole inner battle about who he should protect more ( ... )

I know, I know you did! You told me, like, last year! But...the series has just been so perfect that I was intimidated the last book wouldn't match my expectations, so I put it off for a while, and then I read awful reviews, so that made me even less inclined... >_<

I ordinarily wouldn't mind Rose being manipulative, it's just that I can see the Bella comparison, y'know? Like, using Jacob to get over Edward = Rose using Adrian to get over Dimitri and it's...meh. I don't want to be able to see parallels there, gah!

The Dimitri/Lissa thing sounds a bit better now that you've justified it, lol. *hugs* I'm too neurotic for my own good, I need to rip the band-aid off and just go read the thing!

I will def be getting the new book and reading that straight away, though! I can't believe it's coming out in a week, I didn't even remember there was another book coming out and now it's nearly here! (I'm assuming the Aug 23 means this year, lol)

Perfect? Hm, maybe. But yes, just read it and then you can yell, scream or pick apart the bits you don't like just like you do with HP! ;P

Agh. Just FORGET TWILIGHT. WHO CARES. *has not read the books so doesn't care either way much and only saw the first movie 2 weeks ago*

I don't think she puropsely was using him, and she never did anything, it was more a he was chasing her so she gave in to see what it could lead to kind of thing? She didn't go after him, and *shrugs* whether that makes it more justifiable or not these things happen.

I need to rip the band-aid off and just go read the thing!
Yes, you do. You so do. *hugs*

Okay, I'm not sure when/if I'll get Bloodlines. I mean I wasn't that excited but then I couldn't stop reading all the preview chapters! Argh, confusion.

Omg omg omg I'm really into Vampire Academy right now. I've only read the first three books though, so no spoilers please! I will DEFINITELY be reading the spinoff.

Really?! Yay! I think I remember us vaguely talking about it once.. Excellent, personally I love the first three the most. No spoilers from me...but I hope you didn't get spoiled by borg_princess' and I above conversation! I'm not used to having someone else around who know and talks about the series. I will be careful from here on out (but I usually am just perhaps not in the comments of my own journal).

Yay. I think I'll definitely be reading the spin-off, its just a matter of WHEN.

Aww, that's nice of you! I have deliberately not been reading the other comments on this post :D I'll let you know when I'm finished with the existing books and then we should totally have a big chat about it, agreed? I'm picking up the fourth one from my work friend on Monday.
