Whoa. Was it just because the end of that Small Fandom Festival that so many people posted in the last 24 hours or what? I have to go back 3 pages now...

Today in points.

So ... you watched "Twilight" for your Cinema studies class, right?

... oh, man, I have GOT to ask. Let me just fairly point out right away that I have a very, very poor opinion of "Twilight," so I'm terribly biased against it. So, that said -- what on EARTH did they say they were having you watch "Twilight" for? Just to talk about the different popular movies are out there? Or because the (this is true) cinematography is so gorgeous? Because ... why on earth else would they have you WATCH that?? ;-)

Yep.

...ahaha. Yes, I believe (because my tutor didn't turn up to class so we couldn't discuss it more) it was a mixture of all of the above you stated. That the cinematic techniques were still good however horrible the plots and dialogue may appear to some. ;)

It doesn't look like there are any other such 'surprises' in store, though I might not be able to get through The Exorcist..

I really resent that Twilight is now considered a "text" worthy of tertiary study. What are you supposed to study, exactly? That the main character is basically a blank canvas on which lonely females can project their own personalities so that the whole thing plays out as a sort of "build your own lame love story"?

That's really nice about the invite! I got one like that recently actually, from a girl I barely talked to at uni and only got talking to properly in the last week before I finished my last semester. We found out very last minute that we have a common love of manga and she invited me over to borrow a bunch of her stuff. Then she also invited me to her 21st birthday! Sadly, I couldn't go. (Turns out she's the sister of a guy I've got my eye on though, mwahaha!)

Ack. I think I'd die if we had to study it as a text. D: I'm so glad that ours isn't really that kind of studying, but more the techniques of the film maker(s). It did seem pretty...lame... or how should I say? Spark-less. Forgive the pun/irony -whichever I'm trying not to use. ;)

Oh, that's nice to hear! Shame you couldn't go, but lol at the brother candy. :P

Baahahaha "spark-less", I'm gonna remember that!

Sadly, brother candy is very ill right now so flirting has been brought to a near standstill. Damn, you winter!

I didn't know whether or not to leave out the - hyphen so it looked more like the word 'sparkle' or keep the emphasis on the 'less'. :P

Aw. Winter colds and sicknesses are not nice!
