Came here ooking for your birthday list, and need to add, to your list of things you thought about at three: tape. Lots of tape. You once wrapped your entire rocking horse with it.
The first Gulf War was different for me, of course; what I remember most was feeling inadequate because I wasn't coping at all well with your Dad being gone from before I got up in the morning until after I went to sleep at night up to six days a week, and occassionally running out of groceries if Grammie didn't feel like taking me shopping. Because half the kids in Sam's and then your Preschool/PreK/Kindergarten classes had parents deployed to the Gulf, even after the war.
Mom, but I couldn't use the bus because itwasn't safe to walk on Marvin Road with two preschoolers.
