Zoë delivered 7 pups by c-section today (~2pm)... 4 girls, 3 boys. Zoë seems to be recuperating surprisingly well, but we'll need to keep an eye on her over the next 2-3 days as there might have been some complications ( Read more... )

OMG, they're precious! Pic #2 is my favorite. :) Zoe looks exhausted, poor momma. Congratulations to you all, and big *gentle* hugs to Zoe-mama!

abby wanted to kiss them ALL good night. she literally BEAMED when she saw them for the first time.

Emily just smiles and laughs with glee when she sees them.

Shadow doesn't know why we brought them home, and wishes that he had gotten to go too. :-P

so do the littermates. If they can't find a boob, anyone's ear will do. I mean, can't they tell the difference? :-P

and to think that the ears get SOOOOOO big after starting out soooooooooooo little.

Never mind the ears, I can't believe they'll get as big as Zoe and Shadow! I knew they'd be small as newborn puppies, but not that small. Can you imagine how tiny Jasmine's puppies would be if she'd had any?

When we got Jasmine at 9 wks (?) old she was 3.1 pounds. How much do the little ones weigh?

the biggest (Orange) is 13.9 ounces. Green bean is a scraggly 7.8 ounces.

better yet - here's the "birth order" (not really, since we don't know who came when....but this is how we're listing them)
pink, F, 8.3
orange, F, 13.9
green, M, 7.8
yellow, F, 10.4
red, M, 12.5
purple, F, 10.4
blue, M, 10.6

IIRC, Zoe was 11 pounds at 8 weeks; Shadow was 18 pounds at 11 weeks.

Daycare has a chihuahua puppy that was 5 or 6 weeks when they got her at the 4th of July, I bet she barely weighs 1.5 pounds NOW.
