Got some new faces on board, eh?
I'm Second Mate Meifeng, y'need somethin' let me know.
[Locked to Crew]
Mehrkesh an' his whores, it was a fuckin' circus down on the lower decks. Never thought I'd be glad t'come an' face the cattle up here again.

Hey, Second Mate, rub my shoulders. Show your commanding officer some respect or--
[Kage rubs his eye. He honestly doesn't give much of a shit.]
Somethin'. Fuckin' wish we had the masseuse around still. Clever fuckin' bastard, did his job like Mehrkesh Himself.

Y'gonna lay down then or what?
[She digs her nails into the back of the couch, looking intently at the patterns swirled into the fabric, as if they held her attention.]
He wanted to go back. Some folks're lucky, some folks ain't. He made his choice.

[Kage unbuttons his jacket starting from the neck as he talks.]
Far as I know, he didn't even take any kinda documents back with him. Not that Pan needed to--he knows the routes Redd likes to take. So we're in new territory here. Got a feelin' things're only gonna get rougher.
[Kage tosses his jacket onto the floor, peels off his shirt and undershirt and they follow the jacket. He flops out on his belly on the couch.]
Nn.

Always rough, eh? Never a break.
[Pressing her hands against the thick muscles below his neck, she leans her weight down and moves her thumbs in deep, lazy circles.]
Shit. Didn't expect Pan t'bail though. Musta been some wakeup call he had.

[Kage hisses when she finds a knot of tension, but her fingers are strong and Kage really likes the pain of having his muscles forcibly relaxed. He hisses again, then exhales in relief.
Ahh.]
Shit, I dunno what I'd do if Redd wanted me t'spy. Without my meds...
Reply
Redd ain't stupid. He wouldn't send you back. Y'need the treatments more'n any of us.
[Maybe Pan is a spy. Maybe he'll come back, give them information. A headstart on the next voyage.]

[Kage makes a low whuff of pain, but he smiles to himself. It feels great.]
Keep doin' that.
[Kage exhales for a moment.]
Meth's solid. Dips into the drugs too much, but she'n the toaster are good.
[Another pause.]
'Pparently they've been t'visit her a bunch.
Reply
Shit, she hardly c'n look me in th' eye. Looks like I'm gonna gut her t'say hello. Maybe I should indulge her, eh?
[She presses the heels of her hands on either side of Kage's spine, then presses down sharply, hearing a crack as pressure shifts.]
... really. I ain't ... y'know.
It's been a while.

[He grins rakishly at Meifeng over his shoulder as she leans her slight bodyweight on his tense muscles.
There's a sharp crack and he makes a gutteral noise, tensing for a moment before a new relaxation runs over him. Kage rumbles in his chest in approval.]
Yeah. I ain't seen her in a few voyages. Twenty or so.
Reply
Y'd like that, Al-Mawt.
[Meifeng's hands pause for a moment and she sobers again, then keeps going, moving down his spine, working on the muscles just above his hips.]
Saw her when I first came aboard. Ain't been back.
Reply
[Kage grins again and then his eyes flick to Meifeng.]
Let's go'n see her. Bring some sacrifice.
Reply
See her?
Y'think ...
[The thought hadn't occurred to her to go back. The mere suggestion sends a shiver of apprehension down her spine, and she licks her lips nervously.]
Reply
[Kage half twists around and props his head on his hand, face solemn.]
You got an idea'a what we could use for a sacrifice, kital?
Reply
[Her eyes are bright now. She's only half-joking.]
What about th'cook? Y'think she's got somethin'?
Reply
[Kage's about to say 'the cook' but remembers that human sacrifice is something that Redd looks down upon. He makes a thinky noise and furrows his brow.]
Hn. Could ask her. One'a the sushi bears?
