There must be something really obvious that I`m overlooking and I apologize for the painfully amateurish post. Anyway, how do you get a Sim to console another Sim by putting their hands around them as the one who is being consoled weeps? I can`t explain it better than that without stealing someone else`s pic

There's an option for the sim to do a 'Consolable Cry' - after which you have to select another sim, click on the first sim and select the option 'Console'. I believe it works like a regular interaction, so if the relationship isn't high enough they'll be slapped away and whatnot.

This is one of those things I've always wanted to know and never think to ask about, so thanks for posting this!

When a sim (sim a)is crying hard, another sim (sim b)who has a good relationship with them will get the console option when you have sim b selected and you click on sim a.

To get sim a to cry for shoots, I use Paul's reaction tester, but sim's will cry like that when they witness something upsetting, like a break up or death (if they cared for the sims in question).

I meant (and I`m awfully sorry for stealing strange_tomato`s pic) to get this effect, which I don`t think the normal console interaction achieves.

I guess that only happens when do the consolable cry animation and not just when they`re generally sad like I had observed in my game... Yeah, I`m a genius. ;P
