Moving down to the cabins had not exactly been a high priority for Tahiri after Saturday night; she and Ben had spent a good portion of Sunday more or less hiding from everything.

Eventually the need to do something superseded the urge to repress -- and it was starting to hit her that in this situation there was less to repress than she'd expected

Ben had a couple of classes and his normal lunch meeting with Ender--he thought getting back into a routine after the weirdness of the weekend might help--so it was late afternoon before he made his way to Tahiri's alcove with (surprise) ice cream.

"Hey."

"Hey," Tahiri answered, looking up with a slight smile, and scooting over to make room for him without being asked. "Has Chilly Boulder recovered yet from the demand on their supplies?"

"Not quite," he said with a little laugh. "They told me to go easy until the next shipment comes in."

Tahiri glanced at the ice cream he was carrying. "I'm not so sure you took them up on it, but as long as you're going to share I won't give you an awfully hard time about that."
