The Roof of Killer Tomato Cabin, Saturday Night

Kyle offered the bag of peanuts to George. Cracking them out of the shell was half of the fun of eating them. "Tell me again why people like dances?" he asked. Even now, some normal things eluded him.

"Th' lasses look pretty when they dress up," George explained, snagging a handful of peanuts. He was a little off girls right now, but still... "An' dancin' wit' them is nice."

This wasn't the first time George had given that answer. "I still don't get it." He didn't seem bothered by that. "Peanuts are better."

"Girls taste better than peanuts," he replied. "Y'll see. Peanuts are easier though."

"They taste better," he repeated, disbelieving. "Either there's something I'm missing or you've been drinking."

Calvin'd decided to skip the dance due to the fact he'd probably used up his lifetime allotment of the ability to talk to girls yesterday.

When he caught sight of Kyle and George on the roof, well, he'd never yet seen a roof he didn't want to climb up onto. "Uh, hey."

"Evenin'," George said with a grin at Calvin. "No dancin' fer ye?"

"Not really," Calvin replied with a rueful grin. "I'm not so big on those kind of things."

"Which part?" he asked. "Th'lasses or th'dressin' up?"

Hiccup was vaguely aware something was going on that involved dancing, but it didn't exactly fall into his area of interest. He and Toothless had spent the day flying, which was far better than any dance could ever hope to be.

They both looked up as they walked past Killer Tomato cabin. "Now here we have the Fandom Roof Dwellers in their natural habitat," he said to Toothless, grinning up at said roof dwellers. Toothless lifted his head to get a closer look, golden eyes wide and interested. "I guess they're an endangered species, what with the move back to the dorms tomorrow."

"Th'roofs don' go away when we go back t'th'dorms," George called back, staring at Toothless with interest.

"True, but it's a bit of a hike to get down here just to sit on the roof." He tapped his chin, emulating deep thought. "Of course, the dorms have a roof, so you could just move there." Toothless chose that moment to get an even closer look, rearing up to put his front feet on the cabin, bringing his head level with the top of the roof, wings spread for balance. "And this is Toothless, who's something of a roof dweller himself."

"Not th' same type o' roof though," George pointed out. "There's stairs t'that one, and everyone does go up there t'smoke." He jumped back a little at Toothless' movement. "Bloody hell, g'evenin' t'ye Toothless. 'M thinkin' th' wings would make not dwellin' on a roof hard."
