Are you a man or are you a bag of sand?

Morgana is about to do something that will be the talk of the palace for the next few weeks.  To her, it's nothing special.  She was always allowed to interrupt her father for something important, and Morgana's judgment on what constitutes important is rather accurate.

For instance, she interrupted her father when a boy from the village had fallen ( Read more... )

The shock of her appearance - just charging right into the council is enough to stop Monmouth in mid-sentence.

Uther blinks a few times and the rest of the council turns to stare at him, wondering how the King will react to this.

No one stopped her. That's the thing with Morgana; in her life, no one's ever felt the need to stop her before. Granted, this isn't exactly an unreasonable interruption in her mind. If they guards are going to disappear, with the last abductor still on the loose, she feels every right to interrupt.

Unfortunately, she doesn't understand the rules about when to interrupt a king.

So, when Uther says nothing and everyone stares at her, she gives them the briefest glance of disdain, before looking back to Uther. Obviously, he's not said anything because he must not have heard her properly, so she explains again.

"When we were at the stream, we couldn't find the guards. They left us alone." She sounds very patient while explaining it.

He did sort of miss it...but when she repeats herself, he gets to his feet.

"The guards left?"

Suddenly the guards at the doors to the council chambers look rather busy indeed.

Morgana nods. "And then we walked back. Arthur still couldn't run fast if he needed to because of his leg." She leaves out that she's not up to her usual speed either.

She thinks she's done completely the right thing, and really thinks those silly old men of the council need to stop looking like they're all making their best fish face.

"The last man," the one who decided to explicitly threaten her life, only to drop her in a ditch, "wasn't caught, was he?"
