I can see it from the seller's side as well - they don't want to lose more money on the house than they paid for it. And at the moment, most houses are headed that direction.
Sorry they acted like such a$$es though, they could at least have made a counter offer.

Yes, but in this awful seller's market, they're eventually going to have to accept less unless a miracle happens. I mean, we're fully ready to get a lowball offer on ours. But we'd counter...it's the smart thing to do.

When the Brunette and I put an offer on our first house many years ago, the seller was so insulted he took his house off the market.

consider the offer if the couple makes an offer. it's MUCH harder to sell a house then buy one.

Yeah, but our ceiling would allow us to go up quite a bit, which we expected to do after the counter offer, except there was none :P
