oh my god eran, that's just so amazing! i think psychiatry would be a really good choice for you too. congratulations!

i did know a girl who moved to hawaii, originally moved in with her friend whose husband was stationed there & living for free. but once she started working, she got her own place and never complained about the cost of living, did report that they lived on island time with work pretty much finished by midday, etc. it sounded dreamy!

one thing you'll want to look into is animal quarantine. i know this friend of mine wanted to bring 2 kittens in and they said 6 months quarantine. i'm not sure if it's standard or because they were kittens or what, but that's a long time and if you have to get shots and papers, you'll want to get on it and minimize whatever you can for the doggers.

Apparently there's a way to minimize it for dogs, with a vet's approval, for it to come down to five days quarantine. I have to figure that out today.

The way I figure it, I live in DC, so it can't get any more expensive unless I'm moving to San Francisco. It's right in the middle of downtown Honolulu, too.

We'll figure it out. You are, as should be totally fucking obvious, invited any fucking time you want.
