What, if anything, have you got so far? And how set are you on your date? I got engaged in October and planned my wedding for a year later, and still had some issues with vendor availability. But the upside is that I ended up finding a couple lesser-known vendors that might still have availability for September.

We may have a reception site (we found a good one, but he's panicking on pulling the trigger), we might have a ceremony site (working out the details there), and this is all tentatively set on that date until we actually sign on the dotted line for something. He's driving me nuts, 'cause I think he wants to browse around forever, and we just don't have that much time, especially when things do, as you say, book a year out, usually. (He's been a slow mover for our entire relationship, so this isn't out of the ordinary for him.) I mean, we only have 8 months, really -- seems like we need to get the reception/ceremony/DJ nailed down quick, right?
