There's natural gas buses, electric buses and hybrid buses which all produce zero or lower emissions. Mini vans are the same. However, I question how this helps make a wedding green if guests still have to drive to the central pick-up point... Kinda defeats the purpose and makes getting to the event more complicated. And as a guest, I probably would not take the bus if it had to make 30 individual stops to various homes to pick up others.

With the busses, it probably depends on a few things.
a. the size of the bus.
b. the distance it will have to drive/number of trips it will take.
c. how many people fit on it (who would otherwise be taking their own cars)
d. how many people at the wedding.
e. how far the event is from where the majority of guests live/are staying.

I think it would definitely be worth it if most of the guests are staying at a hotel and the venue is elsewhere, or if most of the guests live in a small town or area and the event is somewhat far away.

If everyone lives near the venue it wouldn't be worth it (unless its a crowd of heavy drinkers, in which case its always worth it) to at least hire a van to shuttle them home safely).
