I have another "if I told you this what would you think" question! haha.

I have been talking with people about doing my Hair/Makeup here in the D.C. area and they've been giving me what I believe to be standard pricing based on other sites I've compared it to. I'm just wondering if this sounds outlandishly expensive or not?

This might be my inexperience talking, but I don't really understand why the bride's hair would cost more than the bridesmaids' hair. The stylist we're using is charging the same rate for any special occasion hair. The prices are a tad higher than what I was quoted, but it's probably reasonable for the DC area (mine is central Iowa).

Oh! Sorry, the brides hair is 90 for an UPdo where the bridesmaids are going to have a DOWNdo(lol?) which to them is less expensive.

Every place I got quotes from had a higher price for bridal hair. I suppose their explanation would be because the bride typically requires a complicated 'do and would need more time spent on them which could be true in some cases, but not all. My theory on why they charge more for bridal hair? Because they can.

OP: That's about what I paid. I paid slightly higher than the other quotes I received because A. The MA came to my house, and B. It was for airbrish make up (like your quote) and none of my other quotes offered airbrush. I'd say that's pretty reasonable seeing as how your in DC.

Your prices are similar to what I'm paying here in Seattle. I think it's about standard for any metropolitan area, and actually a little less than some of the quotes I've seen.

Looks comparable, if not cheaper, than what I paid in Toronto for bridal hair & make-up. Definitely not outlandishly expensive.

For my girls, they paid $100 if they wanted hair and makeup. Either one worked out to be $50.

This sounds reasonable. In my area (Connecticut) most places offer packages for hair and makeup starting around 100. I paid 180 for a bridal makeup package (airbrush, fake lash, facial, eyebrow grooming)

Im getting married in Manassas (which isnt to far from DC) and am using a someone from a local salon and are only charging me $45 for my updo. Not sure about the trial and the girls hair but im sure its around the $45 mark. But obviously the closer into DC you are the more expensive its going to be

Yeah! I'm right next to DC in the Gaithersburg area so it seems that this area is super expensive. :\

what place(s) are you talking about? Our locations are close and the lady I've looked into is more expensive by a lot.
