How long will tealight candles burn? I'd experiment, but I don't have any in the house. =P ( Read more... )

What about the really little ones, like, half an inch high? (I assume that's what you mean by the cheapo ones, lol). Would it really be about 2 hours?

That's what I thought, but I've only seen extended burn candles in candles at least an inch high, so I thought maybe you didn't see the word "tealight" in the original post.

Please forgive me for being easily confused, I'm quite tired today. @_@

These burn for four hours and these burn for 12. These are basically just like the first ones, but look a little nicer, if they'll be visible.

I have willow branch centerpieces. I thought that less than 7 branches looks really skimpy. I think we used 10? We got packs at Hobby Lobby for 7.99 then 40% off so under $5.00, and we just used one pack per centerpiece.

Also, tealights we tested and some did 3 1/2 hours and others 4 hours. We are doing unscented votives instead because they will last twice as long but you would obviously need a holder that would hide the height of them since they are an inch and a half to two inches tall.

Not sure if your candles with be visible, but The Dollar Tree has fake tealights (they even flicker like real ones) and ours lasted 24 hours before we bothered turning it off when we tested it (they all lasted the entire reception which was about 7 hours). Maybe you could use a frosted glass if you're putting them in a holder of some sort to hide the fact that they're fake?

As for real ones, I'm not sure about better quality ones, but I get a bag from the dollar tree with about 20 in it and they only last about 2-4 hours. I'm sure non-dollar store ones would last longer.

the cheapie ones you get from bed bath and beyond only stay lit for about 2 hours. I have one of those wall sculptures that you can put tealights in and that's usually how long they stay lit for.
