I think a dark blue would actually look really nice in that space. But then, I'm a HUGE fan of visual contrast.;)

That's an awesome venue, btw. Congrats on setting the date!

Speaking as an art student, a triad colour scheme should work, just so long as you're matching the intensities of the red and yellows already present (ie. if the hall is more gold and scarlet, a really bright turquoise might be a bit much.) Since you want dark blues, it should look totally fine.

Your wedding looks like it's going to be so romantic and faery-tale ish. I can't wait to see how it goes.

Also, I think your color choices will be just fine. I suggest checking out The Knot's "real weddings" to see some weddings in your colors - blue and gold are gorgeous together!
