Well.... your idea gave me chills. I think it's very sweet and would definitely honor you loved ones.

Maybe the vases could be up on the alter somewhere? That might make them more visable and less likely to be knocked over.

I love your idea. I'd even add to it that maybe someone should be designated from the brides side & grooms side to watch over each vase and transport them to the reception, where you could have them placed on an "in loving memory of..." table with pictures etc. That and a blurb in the program should get the point across nicely.

I would probably put a vase on the alter and have the flower girl put both roses in one vase since the families are joining together.

I love your idea. I think that it would be a beautiful tribute.

At our wedding we included a page in the program that said, "With love, we remember: (the names of our family members on both sides who have passed, plus my husband's best friend who died 2 years previous of stomach cancer).... In our hearts, today and always." I really liked the wording of it.
