Hair trial photos - feedback pls?

I'm currently planning on doing my own hair for the wedding. This is the 3rd time I've done the style, but I wasn't able to get decent shots of it without help. Day-of I'll have my mom and MOH with me to help make sure it's even and maybe get the ends to curl a little tighter.

Do you have any product in your hair? Your hair seems to get the kind of same loose curls mine does, and, to get maximum curls, I dry my hair as much as I can with a towel, then comb it out, and put in a ton of mousse. It'll also help to get your hair a little more volume at the crown, and may help get better curl definition. I have a lot of hair, though.

To be honest, I'm not totally crazy about it. It really makes your hair look like it's shoulder length and is pulled back in a somewhat casual way, instead of showing off long hair in a cool updo. I think there's a community on lj (longhair?) that could give you some really cool ideas for how to do your hair.

This. The shoulder length hair, plus the half up/half down style just makes me think of 8th grade. It doesn't seem like elegant bride to me.

Lol! 8th grade was... wow a long time ago. (I'm 31). And I wish my hair was as thick as it was in 8th grade! But your babysitter's club icon is perfect too, since weren't they middle school? :D

Thanks for your feedback -I see how it could look like the top/sides pulled back on shorter hair. And it's definitely more on the "cutesy" than "elegant" side. Going with more realistic flowers might help that some, though it wouldn't change the "shape." Hmm.

Anyway, thanks!

Heh heh, that's fine. I appreciate the honest feedback!

longhair is great, and I love torrinpaige's videos! But her hair is so wonderfully thick and straight that a lot of the styles that look awesome on her don't work on me. :(

I'll keep browsing, but I think I'm going to go with pretty much this unless I come across something just incredibly perfect between now and then. ;)

Thanks again! I really do appreciate all the insight from people, even if I end up not able to apply all of it.
