Have you discussed with your fiance why he doesn't want invitations worded that way? Is he worried about the impression it gives, or worried that people will think his parents didn't help in any way, or something else?

We went with the "because you have shared in our lives with friendship and love, we Eleryth & Mriswith, together with our parents, Eleryth's Mom and Mriswith's Dad & Mom, invite you to..."

He just doesn't! At the end of the day, we could have paid for it, but mum and dad wnated to. His parents are divorced and don't have much money so haven't paid for anything, and that's fine. But I think he'd prefer it to have it just us, or something. Whatever I suggest now he's just grunting at me [the football may have something to do with it!]
Your suggestions sounds good though!

Can you go the middle ground and do "Together with our parents, Jane Smith and John Doe request the pleasure of your company at our wedding..."?

And I understand the football...my fiance is TOTALLY tied up in World Cup. I didn't even know he watched football (soccer) before now, the only sports he seemed interested in were baseball and occasionally basketball. But he is like 100% into the matches. He's watching Ghana v. U.S. right now.

Yeah that's nice actually!

He never watches it, until the world cup, or only occaisonally! I don't know why he's that caught up in the England games - he's Welsh! Haha.

We got ours done through Rexcraft and we have nothing but praise to say about them and the quality of the invitations.

I just googled invitation wording and just used it.
It's also just a generic vistaprint layout

I ordered all our paper stuff from Vistaprint (except our place cards which I printed myself). I was really impressed with the quality and speed of the service and the customer service was great when I had some problems uploading my images for the invites.

We didn't use traditional wording on ours. Here they are, along with our Save the Dates and RSVP cards.

I love your invites! Your information card is fab, I might have to steal some of the ideas off that :D
