I've already bought my bridesmaids hand-made jewellery gifts (and we're paying for their hair & makeup on the day)....but I'm BAFFLED as to what we should get the Best Man? He's FH's brother -- and I just haven't the faintest clue what is an appropriate 'best man' gift ( Read more... )

I'm getting my Man of Honor, FFIL as well as the best man pocketwatches.

The Man of Honor is getting a basic Silver one with a white face and black lettering on the inside.
My FFIL is getting one that is gold but has the texture of a golf ball (He LOVES golf) with a white face and black lettering inside.
Best Man is getting a solid black one with a white face and black lettering inside.

Oh man, if you're freaking out, I'm really in trouble since my wedding is in 2 weeks!

I'm currently just thinking of getting something for them from the gift shop at our venue, which sounds lame on paper, but it's a quirky hotel that is also a brewery and the parent company also has a winery & distillery. Which will work for my parents (I'm planning on getting them a growler that they can fill with whatever kind of McMenamin's beer they like along with two Kennedy School pint glasses), but I have no idea what to get FH's elderly parents who don't drink. I may leave it up to FH to find something. :)

Pints and Growler.

I'm going to keep watching here though for ideas for FH's parents.

My husband bought his groomsmen their ties. He purchased Brooks Brothers charcoal grey silk ties for them. For our ushers, I purchased engraved hip flasks.

For my parents, I bought them a piece of art and had it framed. It's a blessing (from ketubahketubah.com) that basically says "You have given us a great example. We hope our home/marriage/life will be similar to yours." In theory, I think they liked it but it hasn't made its way onto their walls yet...

What does your FH's brother like to do? What's he into? Same with your parents - what do they like? Get something that matches their personalities.

FH is thinking that he'll get Personalized BBQ Kits for his groomsmen, since they all love to grill out. The only exception is his brother (best man), who lives in a tiny apartment in NYC. No clue what he's doing for him yet.

For my dad from me, I'm getting him a silver frame with two photo slots - one side will hold a picture of us together from when I was young, and one will be left open for a photo of us together on wedding day.

FH is probably getting grill sets for both of our dads from him. For his mom, he'll likely do a picture dealio like I'm doing for my dad. Either that, or we'll get her jewelery as a gift from the both of us - my friend at Pointy Kitty Studios could do a lovely strand of white and navy blue pearls to accessories the navy blue mom's dress that she bought.

Also from PK Studios, I'm getting this hammered silver pendant for my friend who's serving as our day-of coordinator since she's really into astrology and prides herself on her strong Gemini traits, and something similar but with a paw print on it for ( ... )
