Hey, what's the difference between a suit and a tuxedo?

So I've seen this question come up several times, and each time I thought, "hey, I can answer that!" but then realized that actually, I wasn't really sure. So, I did what any not-very-sensible person would do and commenced a Vast Internet Research Project* to figure this out. After wasting several hours of my life that I will assuredly never get

I love you so much right now. FH wants to wear a suit for our wedding, whic is great, but you can't exactly RENT suits around here. And we're not 100% sure if all the groomsmen will want to go out and buy a suit. The wedding's over a year away and so far they've all said they'll be able to, but it's nice to see this post just in case we did have to go with renting tuxes instead.

Have you looked extensively into renting suits? I'm in MA and actually found a small formal wear chain that did rent suits, which we had our groomsman do. As far as my husband tho, we decided that our wedding was a great excuse for him to finally own his own suit. :)

We haven't, actually. The Men's Wearhouse FH's BM went to (out of town) said it was a rarity, but we'll definitely do some research in our area before we resort to the buying.

I'm struggling with this decision right now.

I like the look of the suit, but man they can get expensive!

If we go with the tux I def plan on not having a vest under it. Too formal for me!
